Position: Business Systems Analyst
Location: Waltham, MA (Part-time 20 hours per week, Remote)

Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join their team supporting the Data-Driven Student Success Ecosystem and Data Modernization projects. In this role, you will collaborate with business and IT teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure the successful implementation of data analytics solutions. You will support data discovery, system testing, training, and post-implementation support, with a focus on BI, data warehousing, and relational databases.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Collaborate with business partners and IT teams to collect and document business requirements for data solutions across platforms (i.e., Workday, Data Warehouse, SQL, and Oracle databases).
- Work with developers to translate business needs into technical specifications for data architecture, reports, and dashboards.
- Partner with data teams to understand source systems and data movement across integrated platforms.
- Develop test scenarios, perform system testing, track issues, and assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure requirements are met.
- Provide training and documentation to business stakeholders, helping them leverage BI tools for improved decision-making.
- Identify and resolve issues related to data quality and analytics, recommending improvements to business processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, focusing on data analytics, BI, data warehousing, ETL, and reporting solutions.
- Familiarity with data integration, relational databases (SQL and Oracle), and reporting tools (i.e., Workday, Data Warehouse).
- Strong understanding of data architecture, object models, and business intelligence concepts.
- Experience with data discovery, profiling, and system testing, including developing test cases and managing UAT.
- Proven ability to collaborate with business stakeholders, developers, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with business and technical teams.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to quickly identify issues and develop solutions.
- Experience working on data modernization or data-driven transformation projects is a plus.
- Familiarity with Workday or similar enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is preferred.
- Background in higher education or student success initiatives is a plus.
